MAD! Want to get off the pill due to the price, but scared! (Birth Control board)

5th May 2008
Ive been on the pill for 3 years. And for 3 years ive tried 3 different pills until Yasmin and that has been the winner so far. Two of those pills were generic brands-- Apri and Microgestin, and i still didn't like those. The other one was OTC LO. Which was a good pill, but caused me too much breakthrough bleeding and the gyno wanted me to switch. Ive been on the Yasmin for 2 years and that really is the pill I prefer and i don't really wanna switch again trying to find another one thats right for me. That also cost alot of money too which i don't have.

Hey I've recently been thinking about going off the pill also. I've got quite a few reasons not being insured being one. Currently I'm on Apri which is a generic and I'm still paying $22.00 a month. Reading things online and reading the full packet insert has also lead me to thinking that the pill could be cause of many irritating side effects. One odd thing is that my contacts irritate the hell out of me and when I wore them a few years ago before I was on the pill that never happened. Well I read on the insert that it could cause innability to wear contacts. How f**ked up is that???? Also I am moody as all hell ( and some say that the pill is supposed to help control that). Another odd issue that no doctor has ever figured out is I get these dizzy spells and a weird lightheaded sensation 24/7. I found this may be from the hormones. Weight gain another issue. Also lack of interest in sex. My fiance doesn't understand why I don't seem to want it anymore. I'm only 27 I shouldn't have this problem. The only thing I really like about being on the pill is that I always know when I'm going to get my period. So do I stop taking it for a few months and see if this helps????? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
