Hi Shannon, I just finished my first period on Yaz as well. My period didn't come until the very end of the last placebo pill, but compared to my periods on Apri Oral, they really weren't that much different. I did seem to have some major cramping on the 2nd and 3rd day of my period, but I took Midol and it worked (midol never used to work for me in the past).
Anyway the whole point of my reply is to say try and give it 3 full months before you decide anything about Yaz. Sometimes our bodies just need time to adjust. I was crazy for the first month that I began birth control, and when I switched to Yaz, the first week was pretty rough (crying over everything haha). Now that seems to have evened out and I am not having any problems with it. So it may just be that your body is adjusting to the hormones. I'd say give it another few months and see if the cramps get any better.
On another note, I also took Yaz for PMDD (crazy bad anxiety) and it seems to work a lot better than my old pill. So at least it works in that respect!
