I use a tactic similar to Rheanna's.
I do want to caution you about exceeding your recommended dose if applicable. Why? It can make your med less effective causing a dosage escalation. If you need more, talk to your doctor about more.
I regularly go brain dead in the afternoon. So I take less med in AM and more in PM to compensate. The principle is used by Metadate. Metadate is an extended release methyphenidate product that releases a smaller percentage in AM than larger in PM. Adderall XR on the other hand releases half its amphetamine salts at the get-go and the other half about 4 hours later.
Try 10mg in AM and 20mg in PM and see if that works for you.
