Quote from JeremyT:I have been on Adderall now for about a month and half now. I take 3 - 10 MG pills per day basically one every 4 hours. My issue is its not working this week. I feel like im coming to a screeching halt, I cant concentrate im reading stuff about 3 or more times. I am having a hard time scheduling things at work and staying on top of my tasks.
I was considering a dosage increase from my psych when I go back in a week. However Im wondering if it will do it again in a month and a half? Does the dosage matter by body weight? If Im 260 LB's do I need a bigger dose then someone who is say 180 LB's? Does it work this way? All I know Is the first month everything was great, I was getting stuff done, I was motivated, I was able to stay on task and finish projects. It even helped with the social disorder however all that is gone this week.

Tolerance is a big issue with these meds. You can up the dose but later on tolerance can set in again, and higher dosing can increase chances of unwanted side effects of the drug.
Also, with continued exposure to a chemical like amphetamine, brain receptors can downregulate or shut down so original condition can seem worse upon discontinuation. IMHO, the meds don't solve the problem in the long run and could make it worse... but that's up to the individual to outweigh the risks to benefits ratio of taking the drugs.
