A friend of mine recently came down with a bad case of strep throat, complete with a fever, chills, and nausea/vomiting. He's taking amoxicillin for the first time, but he claims he felt these symptoms prior to getting on the medications.
I've had strep before and all I ever had was a sore throat...is it normal to feel all these bizarre symptoms? Or is there a chance he's having a reaction to the antibiotics? Just for the record, he's going to speak with his doctor tomorrow, but if he is having these flu-like symptoms (which I know the more flu-ish an illness feels, the less likely it is to be strep) and he was prescribed something for strep, I don't know if his doctor knows exactly what he or she is talking about.
