Anyone have any experience with amitriptyline? (General Health board)

The drowsiness does go away after a time. Trust me, she won't think you're an addict if you ask for a dose increase, amitriptyline just isn't an addictive kind of drug, (you can get tolerance, but tolerance and addiction are worlds away) and 10 mg is pretty low.

Just one thing: Were you warned about the dangers of dry mouth? Ami can cause dry mouth, even if you don't really notice it, and that can lead to severe tooth decay, so you need to be especially careful about dental hygiene. Talk to a dentist if you have concerns in that area.

thanksss! she's given me two 28 day supplies because im due to see my neurologist mid-july so i guess ill just keep taking the 10mg until i see him, then ask for an increase, 50mg is the next one up right?

yep i was told about the dry mouth :) i just sip water before i go to sleep but i always wake up with dry cracked lips which is a bummer. i already have TMJ and fixed braces so i hope this doesnt cause any more damage in the mouth region haha. the amitriptyline is really helping my tension headaches (finally) so im glad :)

take care. x
