SOMETIMES, you can treat vtach with amiodarone or lidocaine, but the best standard of care treatment is cardioversion (not defibrillation...it's a bit different), which is important because this rhythm can turn in to something nasty--i.e. ventricular fibrillation.

I just had a cather ablation,I've been on Amiodarone 400mg for 4 years,It seens to have worked,haven't had any vts since.I was taken off the Amiodarone at that time
