I have been suffering for the past 4 years. Started with a bad cough which lasted for 3 months. Eventually went away after taking Prilosec for a month. After 9 months developed bad cough again and was sent to an allergist. She started to treat me for asthma. It helped but it took me 3 months to get rid of the cough and since then I have mucus in my throat which feels like post nasal drip. This gets so bad sometimes that my voice gets hoarse and I have a hard time speaking. Also, I developed sleeping problems and was on Ambien for 2 years. I am able to sleep without Ambien now but for the last year I have been to three (3) gastroenterologist, one (1) ENT specialist and Two (2) allergist. Two years back I started to develop buring in my stomach and had chest pain too. I went through an endoscopy and had mild gastritis and mild esophigitis for which I took Nexium for 3 months after which I started to get side effects and stopped taking it. I also was taking inhalers since my allergist was not sure if my symptoms were due to reflux or allergies or both. I have been through 2 endoscopies, had a pH study done and also went through a colonoscopy. All came out normal. Now for the past month my mucus in the throat has increased. I feel tightness in my chest after eating. Feels like something is stuck in my throat. Have a burning feeling in my throat and ears. And my ears continue to pop all the time. I was referred to an ENT doctor who took a look at my larynx through a scope and said it was inflammed due to reflux. He put me on two prevacid's. I have been on one prevacid since January and I don't know how I could be having reflux. I am so frustrated b/c my sympotms don't get any better. I am confused as to what I have? acid reflux? bile reflux? allergies? or something else? all my blood tests come out okay. I really need help as I feel the doctors are driving me crazy. Also, one of the doctor put me on Klonipan thinking that I had anxiety too! Ofcourse I am getting anxious b/c I am suffering every day! Can anyone help me? I really need to know what I have?

I have acid and bile reflux. I have had acid reflux for years along with Barrett's esophagus for 15 years and i was taking Losec, but now on Pariet.
I had the scope 1 year ago and it was not bad.

Four months ago i started having severe heartburn,mucus,coughing and they would not do a scope as it was 10 months since my last one and it was not bad.
I also had breast cancer so i was at my onco each month and she said someone has to get the scope done again as you are suffering.
Had the scope again and my stomach had a LOTS of bile in it.

I now take Domperidone and my Pariet one half hour before i eat.
Have breakfast then wait and take Questran one hour later. I take it 3 times a day and my life has changed. I pray anyone suffering from this gets help as my quality of life was horrible.
My acid/bile reflus is 90 percent better.
Could anyone on Questran tell me if you can mix your dose ahead so if i am in town it would be easier?
Also the 4 hours between does can i have a snack?
I do have a little snack before bed.
