MM, If that small dose is working I wouldn't worry. Most people take 1 to 2 mg alprazolam a day wich 1 mg =20mg Valium. You should always taper off instead of abruptly, but since you only have been on a month, cutting down a third a dose every 3 days should work. Ask you doctor to be sure.
