Bmacdonald,
Your welcome!! Today I actually felt no lump at all, all day, until I had an extremely stressful/anxiety sitution come up. I tend to think that my lump is also partly due to globus hystericus.
Xanax is an anti-anxiety medication (alprazolam). I only take it when my throat is really bad.
I'm glad that you saw another ENT. Looks like you are finally getting to a diagnosis. I hope that your diagnosis is the globus hystericus because in my opinion, I'd rather treat that then silent reflux. From what I've read here, it seems you need to be on medication a lot longer, and may always have to take it.
Let me know how you make out with the Ducene (is that an anti-anxiety med??). You are right about alcohol and acid reflux - they don't go together - but if I just have one or two drinks, it doesn't bother me. Coke (or any caffeinated drink) is not supposed to agree with acid reflux either, so I'm surprised that Coke doesn't bother you.
