HIGH BP, then mild stroke, and now Low BP (High & Low Blood Pressure board)

18th January 2008
;)Thanks for all the thoughtful ideas to ask my doctor this afternoon. I will do just that and more. I have also noticed my typing got more mistyped twice more wrong than before the stroke. Must be my right fingers don't know and/or coordinate with my head what key to hit, same way like driving. I have to go back and forth to fix misspelling on email more often now than before. I will mention that to the doctor also. thank you. Peng:)

******************************** the following is post after I went to see my doctor*******************************

Okay, I did went to see My primary care doctor, and from all the test results that piled up in my electronic chart (not paper any more, or we would never get through it all), such as X-Ray, CT scans, MRI, EKG, any many other test I can't put a name to. From all these huge amount of test result, my doctor agreed with the ER doctor that my facial numbness was the result of damage from pain on my right neck to near the top of the head. Still not known what cause those pain. Spasmlike pain that makes me jerk when it hit while I was at rest.

About the low BP: My doctor have no idea, yet. He is sending me to see neurologist (SP? about the low BP and the dizziness I have whenever I walk or do activities longer than 5 minutes. He also said my inability to drive might be connected to the dizziness condition that continues to pester tme, not because I had had a stroke.

My medications were total 17 different names during Christmas Holidays. I could not remember much about this year's Christmas, due to all those medicines.

Now, it is reduced to 5: Lisinopril 10 mg for BP control, Valium 0.25mg for Dizziness, Flouxentine 10mg for depression, Prilosec 20mg for stomach pain from all the other medication and acid control in stomach, and Allopurinol 300mg for gout.

I have suffered gout attacked on my two big toes since 1988. Sometimes I forgot to take this medicine and the gout reared up its ugly head by making my big toes swelled up red and painfully.

I am a male, 45 years old, been working for the US Postal Service for the past 19 years. If this dizziness and weakness does not go away leaving me a skeltal guy (My wife said I lost near 20 pounds since it all began), I may just file for disability retirement, since I can never drive again. ( I have been driving for 30 years)

I did review my BP chart I printed out and brought with me. It helped much what other tests to do, but for now, the neurologist first, then more, if need be.
