Decaffeinated Coffee (Diet & Nutrition board)

8th July 2007
Becky,

Of COURSE, the arabica are the expensive beans! :D:D
I think most supermarket brands are robusto.
I imagine there is a lot of LYING that goes on at the processor level.

It looks like I too will need some sort of compromise for awhile; either making a 50-50 mix or starting the day with a cup of REAL and then switching to DECAF.

I HATE that decaf is SOOO expensive.

Hmmm, one doesn't usually think of brewed coffee having lipids (except for half and half. :)

It will mean a lot for me to accomplish this becasue IF I could get off my BP meds, primarily a diuretic and a pricey ARB, then my uric acid levels will fall (diuretic causes retention of uric acid and gout) and then I'll be able to also discontinue my daily antigout med...allopurinol for 20 years.

Life with ONLY a cholesterol med and aspirin will be MUCH nicer (and cheaper.)
