Hi,
I've been having the same problem as well. It started at the end of January. Tightness all on the leftside of the head (just above the ear); some facial numbness on the left side of my face just over the eye, cheekbone, nostril, and fullness of the leftear. I went to the ENT who said it sounds like congestion. After taking Allegra (to no avail) and a prescribed nasal spray (to no avail), I've decided to just relax and let things heal themselves. I am guilty of popping my ears often during stressful times or just trying to clear out my ears if I've been in a loud environment. I know that popping my ears often can trigger those TMJ like symptoms, so I've made a very conscious effort to relax because I am having some digestive problems that started this past December and the ear popping had become a nervous habit. If you're also popping yours ears, just relax and don't do it. TMJ can be a result of nervous habits (teeth grinding, clinching, etc..). Now that I've made the effort to relax, My numbness is curbing and the fullness in my ear is nearly gone. Relaxing helps everything.
Hope this helps.
