   ears and allergies (Allergies board)

9th November 2005
Back in July I suffered from a 3-day long headache. It was the worst I'd ever had and I've never really had headaches that often. Right before I decided to go to the doctor, both of my ears and my nose began to have pressure and pain. the doctor said it was allergies and gave me Allegra-D. I took it along with tylenol for a couple of days and felt better. I didn't have any problems with it again until I start back to work in late August (i teach school.) My left ear started bothering me and I felt bad again. So, I filled the prescription for Allegra- D and began taking it again. When I got better, I stipped taking the medicine, then about 2 or 3 weeks later, it happened again, this time after my ear started hurting, i also had discomfort in my shoulder and neck (right around my collar bone) and kind of an itchy feeling between my ear ,neck, and shoulder along with fatigue. This cycle has continued for almost 3 months now and sometimes i get a little pain under my arm, and my chest feels congested with drainage in my throat. Is all this still allergy related? The Allegra doesn't seem to work as well as it did in the beginning. I hate going to the doctor...should I go for a reevaluation?
