Prescription Alternative to OTC Claritin D (Allergies board)

14th April 2004
There are actually a couple different meds you could try. Allegra-D is pretty good, and most likely to be covered by your insurance company. I've heard alot of positive comments on that one. Zyrtec-D is another one you could try. If you really really like Claritin-D, there are a few (and I emphasize few) insurance companies that will cover OTC Claritin. You have to have a prescription for it and the pharmacy will probably look at it and tell you it's OTC, but just tell them you want to see if your insurance covers it. Or you could call your insurance company and ask them yourself (if you haven't tried this already). Hope this helps! :)
