Anyone who is or has been on yasmin and spiro or doxy (Acne board)

11th August 2006
I am getting very concerned. I have been on doxy for almost 2 months, i just started my second pack of yasmin, is day 23 on sprio, and have been taking prenisone for over a month on and off. I just started seeing very little improvement in my face and then i start breaking out even more. I don't understand why this keeps happening. I am thinking that maybe it's the yasmin? I feel like i've been dealing with this for so long and nothing is happening except for my face getting worse. My questions are...

How long until you saw improvement with yasmin? How long till it worked on you? Could that be why I am breaking out?

How long did doxy take to work on you? I'm thinking maybe the doxy isn't working at all for me!

I'm sorry I just feel soo lost and don't know why this is happening. My acne was never bad before. This all started when I started taking alesse. That's why I had to switch.

I know it's a long time to wait, but if you haven't seen improvement in 6 months then I would try accutane. You could have a breakthrough within the next two months - who knows. Just hang in there. DD is on what you are with the exception of differin. She'll start 3rd pack of Yasmin next week and is on 50 mgs. of spiro. 200 mgs of Doryx. How much spiro are you taking? Honestly, it takes 3 to 4 months for hormonal treatments to really kick in. Healing is very gradual.
