ok, so I've got VIN III and VaIN III. 4 spots between inner and outer labia were removed and biopsied. I'm only 28 so the doc has prescribed Aldara prior to other treatment options. I've been on it for 5-6 weeks. I've started to really itch and have swelling the day after a treatment, but I've also noticed some spots develop that appear different (not like my previous spots) a little like an open sore, or like a really red and irritated spot. I think it's from the Aldera because I know some people can get ulcerations, but I'm not sure. The spots are in different areas than where the vinegar wash indicated abnormal cells, so that's why I think it's the Aldera. I know I'm not supposed to put in on other areas, but the cream just gets all over during application. :-) I'm just not that coordinated while trying to balance a compact mirror and a construction lamp while displayed in front of a full length mirror. Whoa is me!
To cut a long story short, is there anything I can put on the treatment area to reduce the itching and irritation between treatments? Also, do you know of any special risks with getting a sore? My doc said to not shave as HPV can travel to a cut, so I'm worried that I should cease treatment for a few days even though the discomfort is not great with the spots.
Any input is appreciated!
