Okay i have been taking Aldera for a few weeks now, last week i noticed a little blister like wound dirctly where the aldera applied location of my penis lays. At first it was a little painful, but now only hurts when i apply the aldera. I'm am really worried that this is herpes. Does anyone have any enlightenment about this. Thanks

HI! Yes. I have been using Aldara and I have gotten a lot of those blisters right where I apply the cream. It is freaking me out. Today I go to the gyno to find out what it is - I will let you know. Also, I read on a board somewhere else from someone who got blisters from Aldara, had the blister biopsied, and came out negative for herpes. This may just be a side effect of the cream. I hope it doesn't mean that Aldara can activate a dormant case of herpes, just that Aldara produces "herpes-like" blisters. I will post again later today.

NOT HERPES! - Definitely not. If it comes and goes with the Aldara, it is not herpes. I was told this is a very common reaction, but it can cause scarring, so you need to lower the dosage when blisters start to form. Good luck with everything!!

Hi there.

Also taking aldera for about a month now. I'm also wondering about this. For me, I'm circumsized, it seems to be a REAL red rashiness thats shiny. Right at the bottom of the head to shaft, where the foreskin comes in contact, around the lip. Im really worried too. I also have a redish spot about the size of a dime near the top of the head. No blisters......just looks really irratated. There's gotta be someway we can tell its not herpies, right?

Worried.

Aldara has been found to trigger outbreaks of herpes in some patients who have dormant herpes. 3M knows this happens but will not put it on the label. If you really want to know what Aldara is all about I suggest you visit http://www.aldara1.com where there is a collection of data and information 3M "forgot" to warn everyone about on the label. Most all the data is 3M's own materials. Go all through the site as just a quick visit will not do you justice in educating yourself about Aldara. It's really bad stuff.

Hi, the only way to know for absolute sure is to be tested for herpes, but, blistering is most definately a common side effect of aldara cream. :)

I totally agree that testing is the only way to know for sure that HSV is the root cause of the blistering in all instances where blistering occurs. I just find it absolutely appauling that 3M, the manufacturer of Aldara, failed to disclose known "flaws" with their drug as pointed out by the aldara1.com website. This total disregard for human safety is now being reflected by the many reports now surfacing of patients, internationally, coming down with all sorts of "Aldara induced" disorders like Pemphigus, HSV outbreaks, Fibromyalgia, Hair Loss, permanent GI track disorders, along with other autoimmune disorders while 3M proudly promotes their drug as "the first drug to ALTER our immune systems ability to attack cells in a NON-SPECIFIC fashion". Once unnaturally altered by Adlara, the immune system can then see not only bad cells but good normal self cells as well that are supposed to be forever hidden from attack by the immune system thus setting the stage for all sorts of autoimmune disorders which is the body's attack on normal self cells, i.e., Pemphigus, SLE, Arthritus and others.
