   what is spiro? (Acne board)

19th June 2004
"spiro" is spironolactone (also known as Aldactone) and is a hormonal treatment (anti-androgen). It's used for treating high blood pressure but also works to block the hormones that can cause acne. I highly recommend it. I've been on it two months and have perfectly clear skin after 10 years of acne.
