Quote from Buzz:Hi they cant find a cause for mine i had the cardio cath no plugged arteries everything looks good but my heart i do have a atril fib problem but they dont seem to be worried about that they said there is nothing they can fix so they are treating me with meds i take coreg, altace, aldactone, plavix, lasix, digoxin, potassium, magnesium and aspirin i am 47 i think ill have a beer
Man! With all that junk going into your system, you heart has got to be jumping all over the place all of the time! If you are not having major side effects from all those meds, you've got to have a body of steel.
If they are not worried about your CHF and your Afib, why do they have you on so many drugs? Sounds to me that they are just throwing a medicine cabinet at you, hoping it works long enough for your check to clear.
Would you mind saying the dosage of each med, and your medicine schedule? Do you take all of the meds at the same time?
Also........ if they can't find a cause for your CHF, I'd be willing to bet that your heart became weakened, over time, by a constantly erratic heartbeat and/or high blood pressure. When you listen to your heart does it beat nice and peacefully, and evenly, without jumping, or skipping, or racing, or thumping, or pausing? Sometimes, as with some forms of Afib, the erratic nature of the heartbeat is not always that noticeable. It would show up on a 24 hour holter in an excessive number of ectopic beats and ST irregularities.
Do you know your average blood pressure? If I were you I'd get a good digital BP guage and take my blood pressure three times a day for a month, in the morning, before lunch, and before going to bed. That way you'll get some idea of your daily blood pressure.
Regards, and the best of the holidays to you and your beer. :)
