When i had pharyngitis 3 weeks ago, my doctor told me to use an albuterol inhaler, which opens the throat back up. I have asthma, so I may be different, but it worked. The doctor did say that he normally prescribed the inhaler to people who got it though. I know it is a pain, and hurts really really bad.
