I appreciate any help...I am desparate.
I'll make my health history brief as possible:
5 yr ago had nissen fundoplication for severe gerd.
Gerd now back with a vengance.
Gerd even when sleeping sitting up...wake up choking several times a night. (what's next...sleep standing up???)
I am getting over the third bought of SEVERE asthma.
I seem like I only have a bad cold. Sudden violent coughing followed by NO air in or out follows. Was lucky enough to have attack in ER last Monday nite and got er doc's attention.
I have had such severe coughing and asthma that my chest is in MONDO pain at all times. I must take Lortab just to barely maintain the pain.
Meds I am on: Nexium, Advair, Albuterol inhaler, steriod dose pack (and one steriod shot), lortabs, mucinex, highpowered antibiotic-Avalox (day 8).
I follow doc's instructions perfectly.
Gerd only getting worse. Asthma scarier than you can imagine.
Every night I go to sleep I am afraid I will wake up and can't cough out the stuff and will die.
Also, esophageal cancer seems to be a very real fear in my future.
Last time I saw my gastro doctor he said he can do nothing else to help me!
Oh yes, and I went to an asthma specialist in April. He did extensive tests and said my asthma is NOT from allergies.
I am really scared. This is my third case of bronchitis/asthma within a year's time due to aspiration in my sleep.
