3 year old with shingles (Children's Health board)

2nd August 2007
Yes, I have 3 yo who was diagnosed today with shingles. Can you believe it? He actually had a very mild case of the chicken poxs when he was 7 months old. The doctor said it was that early exposure that made him susctible now. I read that children who were exposed naturally before 1 year of age have a greater chance. He is on Acyclovir. Hopefully he will now have a mild case of this. We caught it early. He had a cold last week, but I can't imagine that could run down his immune system to get the shingles. Has anyone ever had a child come down with shingles?
Thanks in advance.
