[QUOTE=madhu.aryal;2748331]I have been in Actos 45 mg once in the morning a day for last 8 months. The results were not good as the sugar levels were between 230-290. Doctor added Metphormin 500 mg twice a day for last one month and results are getting better (i.e. 90-100) but how long do I have to continue with it? Or is there better cure for type 2 with different med or herbal stuff, please advise.
I need expert advice on my problem.
Best regards, Madhu

Medications do not cure type 2 diabetes. They control it. Your blood sugar is now normal because you are taking the medication. This is a stupid example, but bear with me. If you had a leaking garden hose, you could stop the problem by adding tape. Once the leak is gone, you would not take off the tape, would you? The medication is the "tape" that is taking care of the problem of your high blood sugar.
Proper diet and exercise can help reduce the requirements for medication. Some herbal supplements also help, but the bottom line is that there is no cure for diabetes. There are a variety of treatments. Including the medications you are now on that appear to be working. You have been diagnosed with diabetes and will always have it. By changing you lifestyle and perhaps losing weight if it is required, you might be able to get off the medication. But you will always have diabetes.
I wish you the best of luck in taking good care of yourself.
