The drawback of Glyburide is that the benefits are short-lived. It stimulates your pancreas to produce more insulin. Which will improve your control in the short-term. But the extra stress on the beta cells causes them to burn out more quicly, accelarating the progression of the disease. The best way to deal with insulin resistance is to limit carbohydrate and get lots of resistance exercise. And maybe you can maintain acceptable BG levels with the help of metformin and insulin sensitizers like actos or avandia. ;)
