Ideas Anyone?? (Open to All Health Related Topics board)

I agree, my first thought was hypoglycemia. Ask for a glucose tolerance test, and see if they will give that to you. That can diagnose if your body has an increased insulin reaction to things. The diabetes drugs that they have out now, Metformin, Actos, and Avandia, will actually help with hypoglycemia. My doctor explained to me that they make your insulin receptors more sensitive. So, if you are hypoglycemic (produce too much insulin), then it helps because what's really happening in your body is that your insulin receptors aren't sensitive enough, so your body overproduces. If you're diabetic it helps because you can't produce enough insulin so you want your receptors to be extra sensitive so that a little insulin goes a long way.

I was glucose intolerant (which means hypoglycemic), I produced too much insulin in response to a stimulus (like glucose, or any carbs really), and thus, my blood sugar sank after eating. Well, I tried the diabetes drug Metformin, but it made me very sick. Now, it's all under control with the South Beach diet. I really recommend that, cutting out bad carbs (keeping high fiber good ones) can cure most people who are hypoglycemic.

Hi There!

My first thought was Hypoglycemia. Your symptoms sound much like mine a few years ago when I was 18, I kept feeling faint or dizzy and felt like I had to stop in the middle of the sidewalk and hold on to something or I was going to faint. I was mis diagnosed with Panic Atacks the first few times I saw the Dr. But then she finally did a questioning about what I usually ate everyday. And when I told that I usually ate (at the time) A cream cheese bagel for breakfast and lunch and coffee, or something to drink all day or cereal, then she told me that I was suffering from Hypoglycemia. Because I wasn't eating enough Protein and Vegies in my diet. Also My Blood pressure was always real low too, back then , don't know if that had anything to do with it though. . But once I changed my diet, I felt alot better. I don't know for sure if this is your problem. But try adding more meat, fruit and vegies to your diet(if your not a vegetarian) It really helped me a lot -- it stopped my symptoms.
If it's not that at least you'll know.. .. You said your blood sugar came out low, girl when I had this problem I thought I was dying and then it all went away as soon as I started pigging out,lol :jester: :p

Just my 2 cents, because I remember I had ringing in my ears too when this was going on, but didn't realize it could have been related at the time. That's quit interesting if that is what your suffering from! Wonder how low blood sugar causes ringing?

Hope you feel better soon, best wishes. Hope my idea helped.
