I am diabetic controlling via diet/exercise only and took Prevacid for 2 years but it did nothing to lower blood sugar.
On Dec. 26 I stopped taking Prevacid. Had rebound effect for about 2 weeks and then things settled down, no longer had the feeling I needed to take something. The early morning burning stopped. Wonder whether Prevacid was keeping symptoms going rather than a real need for it.
I wonder how many times we take meds long term when we really do not need them, kinda like getting hooked or addicted to them.
I was put on Prevacid after taking Actonel for osteoporosis that caused big time problems with stomach and esophagus.
