Help needed! Dr. left!!! (Pain Management board)

9th January 2008
Dear Wyldflower8,

I feel like I am becoming less and less aware of the "big picture" because it includes so many variables! And...as we post on the message Board, we need to be increasingly careful of how we submit our information. Particularly...we should be more knowing of our facts--I'm speaking of myself more than anyone!

That being said--and letting everyone know that I am not remotely or practically legal or medical (except that I can do medical transcription)--my experience has given me the knowledge that just about any doctor can be of assistance. Especially...I would think that most physicians would follow a person for a month or two under these circumstances (especially when this is documented fully). Just as an example from my irritating past (because I--truly--was the last patient my previous Internal Medicine physician saw), I found an Internal Medicine doctor that did not agree with my 8-9 year regimen of Pain Management medication. Even he, however, offered the 6 month and systematic withdrawal from the Duragesic, Actiq, and Dilaudid. I did NOT accept any of the medications from him because I quickly and miracuously located the Internal Physician I am currently seeing. She did not give me the slightest problem concerning my Pain Management medications.

My point? Although it may take several visits (and I understand they may be expensive), they may be completely worth it! When you find the physician who listens, and therefore Rx's what you need, you might perform acrobatics--or, at least, hire someone who can! Otherwise, I don't know how to address the specific problems you face due to your doctor's sudden "flee". I'm positive that there is a legal remedy, but who knows how long that could take?

We all need to know how this turns out!! If you find a way to help yourself--we need to know! Keep us posted!

Sincerely,
Jon (Conductor)
