Dear Onyx,
Brian's advice is great! I, too, go to a LOCAL small pharmacy and rarely have any difficulty.
Because I have been their customer since 1996, they will order items ahead of time for me. That way, when I walk in with the Rx--it will always be there for me. When my patches and Actiq are coming due, I call them 3 or 4 days in advance to make sure they will have them in stock.
Plus, I told the main pharmacist (who oders medications from their warehouse supplier) that I would never, ever leave them holding the bag. I told them I would always pay for this expensive medication.
I guess I'm trying to say that it is a good idea to have excellent communication with the main pharmacist--even if it is just a "general interest" type of relationship. This type of thing builds trust. Pharmacists are human beings, too, and deserve appropriate treatment. Certainly, I'm not saying for you to be 'fake'. Just be friendly. I guess this applies to relationships in general!
Well, that's it. We all hope you can get everything straightened out--with your Mail Order Pharmacy or a Local Retail Pharmacy (perhaps a smaller one). Many of us understand that the Mylan patches are not as effective on some people as the Sandoz. Please keep us posted!
Sincerely,
Jon (Conductor)
P.S. Brian...I understand what you are saying!
