Help!!!!!! getting off Dilauded (Addiction & Recovery board)

12th September 2003
Hi just read your problem with hydromorphone (for some reason I spell that but not Dilaud???)anyway I was there. Found out some stuff about that med (I'm sure there will someone out there,if he's still around, to correct me. But let's see it as more info the better) Firstly getting off or better said stopping Dils is really hard because it's one if not the strongest IR pain med out there (excluding Actiq, dismissing any further arquements)and unfortunately sticks around your system for awhile. So don't feel like it's you. I just read that Perdue is trying to make SR form of Dil available here in the states, already in Canada. That might be A god send because going c/t on Dils is down right dangerous. I know from personal experiance. The med also comes in lower dosages and eventhough I don't preach tapering, as everyone is different, it's something you might want bring up with your Dr. I know what your going through, if there is anything I can do please just ask.Lake
