Thanks for the tips! Seems I am not the only one, unfortunately.
I have tried (or should I say had to) taking other things in addition to the PPI. There are some days where the acid reflux/gastritis/stomach burning & nausea are so bad I have to take Pepto or Tums in addition to the PPI. My doctor also prescribed Sucralfate to help heal the stomach lining but after a couple of days the stomach pain was so bad I had to stop. He also prescribed Domperidone (sp?) because he thought my stomach problems may be due to gastroparesis (slow emptying stomach). The side effects listed scared the daylights out of me so I didn't even bother taking them.
As for the person that said to break the capsule and take the beads inside..I am taking Pariet (Aciphex) and they come in a solid pill form with the "time release" coating on it. So that probably wouldn't work.
I have heard of the DGL Licorice mentioned on the digestive board, but have no idea where I would find that!?
