I was diagnosed with GERD and hiatal hernia in 2003. My doctor had me try several different medications but the ONLY ONE that keeps me from having heartburn is Aciphex. Insurance companies try to get you to take Nexium or other meds cause of the cost but with if Dr. will tell them that you CAN'T take any other med., the insurance company will approve it. When taking Aciphex, I can eat anything I want and eat very late at night and go right to bed and have no heartburn symptoms. Have you tried Aciphex yet?
