I hope someone can help. My son was on Risperdal Consta for over a year and had quit taking it 10 weeks before I happend to ask him if he was making his Dr. appointments and he told me he had missed some. Neither his thearipist realized it - she saw no difference in him and neither did we. Last Tuesday he was Baker Acted and has been in the behavioral health center. He feels like if he stays there, he will go totally crazy and end up in a mental institution but he said he can't leave. The Dr. signed that he could go home yesterday but he said the can't. He calls me periodically throughout the day and says he is getting worse. He says that taking the drugs messes him up even more - just the very act of taking the pill is messing him up. He told us last Sunday that he let go of everything that is helping him. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions as to what is happening to my sun?? They put him on Abilify in the hospital and he just started taking it yesterday but he says it's messing him up. Help please.
